I am very interested in how that happened to those who complained that their skills were eroded here. What do you think is the culprit?

I'm impressed with Oracle. I've been here just over a year. I don't have to do any training on the tools. I just take notes from senior people and then figure it out. If it's wrong, either no one notices or someone else will catch it and explain it to you.
I think it's just the maintenance of old products with old tech. Erosion is probably the wrong word, it's more like stagnation. While the world moves to new tech, Oracle does not, so people lose their edge and their ability to get other jobs.
“ My skills did get better at Oracle, but one really has to go out of their way. “
Then you obviously don’t have time to do your real job (or of course, you are a manager)
The culprit?

So true. They did away with the specialty training in San Francisco, where we met folks from around the world. Instead they went on line, with to check on how good the content was, or how well it was delivered. The system was thrown away to keep the accountants happy!
Training reduced to videos!
