Why is Humana no longer covering its own employees in over 30 states? What if I don’t want the Cigna network? Is it better? What’s going on- is this part of parsing out business like Humana has done with Cohere or are we in sone partnership with Cigna? Seems weird.

So last I knew, Cigna leases the health partners network in Minnesota…not sure how that’s going to work? It’s moving from preferred one’s network which was a nightmare with just the two touch points.
Humana Medicare is different than employees insurance
Asked my leader today. Said this amounts to 25000 employees and their families. Don’t understand why we’re sending this business to Cigna to manage. Insurance companies that are self insured don’t do that. I’m also not buying the story of network problems. Humana Medicare has a pay good network. Also can’t believe there wasn’t a heads up. Most people saw it in the open enrollment material.
Where is there info about this? Which states?
This is simply a claims cost control effort.
This network is being offered in areas where Humana had no or inadequate networks. This is for Humana EEs and covered dependents only and is intended to reduce claims costs for those teammates.
Humana is self-insured; every Humana teammate should celebrate this claims cost control effort.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Below poster…why?
31 states will have Cigna. Was told during our Wellness Advocate monthly meeting.
Are you someone impacted by this and what state are you in? Are you remote or in office? Just curious.
Doctors no longer taking Humana in many states
Maybe Cigna is buying us. Strange for sure!
I saw that too and wondered
