Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Applications Service Excellence All Hands Pregame Tailgate Party

7:30 am PST tomorrow! Don't miss it! Should be an amazing show! No shortage of a$$clowns in the lineup tomorrow. MS really knows how to entertain a crowd with his ability to consistently put on a performance that garners a blanket response of "you must be joking".

Please feel free to add any thoughts on this thread about your hopes and dreams for the big event. Or to reminisce about all the highlights from prior all hands events. I for one probably won't be able to sleep tonight what with me being so giddy and excited for the show.

SteveO - regardless of our efforts we get poorer and you get richer, care to elaborate on this?

Stevie - my entire team got a 4 or 5 on there performance review. A truly talented group. Instead of a reward they were eliminated and left to beg for internal jobs. Care to explain the logic on this?

Steven - the stock price doesn’t move we have the same market cap we did in 2014. Why? Before answering better think hard that Oracle bought back 2.6 billion shares. You got five minutes to answer or we pants you on stage.

Stev - does Larry ever change his cloths or wash them? Does he smell when your near him or is it the same smell when you kissing his a-s.

S - Do you really think we are going to give are all for Oracle as you pricks get richer and we get no increases? I remember you saying Oracle is the people and the people are pi---d. You got no answer. Informed my team to just do the minimum until the next global cut.

Stevbo- WTF does the board of directors do and why doesn’t any of them ever talk to the employees. Answer - because they have no idea how to look us in the face and explain there existence.

I got more SteveO but you haven’t answered anything in 10 years and I expect the dog and pony show again.

Last one: why has Larry never invited me to Lanai? I’m sure I could mow his lawn and get more satisfaction then watching my teams soul leave there physical body.

Based on past ASE snooze fests, there won't be any actual information of interest communicated proactively by the talking heads. As such, it would be AWESOME if we could inundate the Q&A chat box with questions about topics of actual concern to the audience. Some suggestions:

  • Are you concerned that we have groups where we've lost over 50% of our headcount over the past year or two, with no backfill?
  • Did they teach you about the concept of inflation in your business school?
  • Did they teach you about the concept of incentives/disincentives in your business school?
  • Have you heard of something called the "Great Resignation"?
  • Have you considered getting a nose job to fix that fu--y nose of yours?
  • Have you heard of something called "Quiet Quitting"?
  • Do you think customers will continue to be willing to pay for support services when there really isn't anyone here to provide the service any longer?
  • Can we start telling the customers that we don't have any experts here any more, or should we just keep lying to them?
  • Why do you like to use the word "cadence" every time we do this charade?
  • Why do the managers below you include the word "cadence" in their meetings ever since you introduced it for the first time in yours? You're such a trailblazer!
  • Can we modify the cadence of these meetings to occur only on the 2nd Tuesday of next week?
  • Can you solve this equation: Support contract fees contractually pegged to inflation + no increase in support engineer compensation during worst bout of inflation in decades = ? (several correct answers possible including private islands, prime real estate deals, mass exodus of top performers and then everyone else)
  • Can you advise on how much daily effort a support engineer who hasn't received a pay bump in 6 years should put in if that same engineer gets good marks on annual reviews and has 2x-3x the responsibility they had 6 years ago?
  • Don't think, just tell me what comes first in your head in response to the following: "which gives you more of a warm and fuzzy between (1) synergies, or (2) cadence"

Sadly though, I suspect they may preemptively shut down the ability to submit questions anonymously due to lessons learned in prior sessions. If not though, please be an active participant in the meeting. They always want us to speak up!!!
