...but nothing about how dysfunctional things are still.

I know of several teams that have vendor apps that cannot be moved to the cloud that have been told to do PoCs on cloud apps offered by other vendors. They were given three years to move to a cloud solution.
@2vri+1iHH7xAO
It's very hurried and impulsive, but it is not slowing or stopping. They have an end date in mind and will move forward even if it means disbanding the entire legacy app team and hiring new staff to build a cloud based app to take its place. Nearly all apps will move to the cloud, and they are firm on that.
@1vnp+1iHH7xAO Our cloud initiatives are a joke both private cloud and public cloud.
I assure you, we will find a way to f**k up the public cloud implementations. Beyond that, while they are identifying what stays (on prem or cloud) and what goes, there is still a ton of technical debt to deal with. How they're deciding is a 1/2 a$$ed, ad-hoc, hurry up sort of thing.
I brought up the fact that they are most certainly looking to replace legacy apps that can’t be moved to cloud with cloud alternatives on this site several times over the past year, and it gets a lot of talk from people who swear that their app isn’t moving to cloud or going away. They are hung ho on moving the apps to the cloud. You can guarantee that if you roadblock it’s enough they will just cut out the rot and replace it with fresh talent - although maybe not as skilled.
wtc+1iHH7xAO - did you not know we change CISOs every year?
Want to point out that there are a a bunch of postings internally for tech positions that require public cloud experience/skills. Yet, nobody can even do that internally. Yeah, just hire from outside instead of growing the people we have.
The stat on reducing delivery time was hilarious. Yeah, maybe it was reduced on existing applications making relatively minor changes that don't involve other teams/systems.
Also, private cloud at capacity. So, instead of moving to public cloud, they're going to pour more money into private cloud. The chart he showed on relative positioning of companies with cloud adoption shows we're so far behind pretty much everybody else.
where’s the seesaw?
Leadership out of touch with reality. Nothing new
Just lipstick on a pig is my take.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
I'm afraid that most of the WF employees that whine and complain about every little thing are insane. Just leave the company already!!!
Where’s the CISO?
The tech leadership doesn't grasp the real-world problems with Agile. When people raised specific concerns, leadership provided canned responses about what Agile could be like or theoretically how it's supposed to work. Doesn't help us.
Total non-answer on attracting good talent.
I’m so sick of the cheerleaders. It’ll take more than cheerleaders to excite the crowd.
I always tell my team that, no I didn't make the town hall, but I'll watch the replay. 'Watch the replay' means come here and catch up.
Saves so much time for resume updating.
And you’re shocked why?
So glad I got out of that sh!tshow in tech two years ago.
