Job I’m seeing posted has a pay grade of 109k - 179k. Are they still only giving 80% - 85%of midpoint? Cause if there’s no target bonus then salary being offered is a joke…

Although the firm has made significant strides in cleaning up its sales practice issues, its internal communications about compensation are still riddled with obfuscation and hyperbole. I’d like to see honesty and transparency extended to us as well as customers.
Negotiated to 90% from 85% initial offer, was internal
Bank will pay 15% over midpoint for external hires.
It’s unknown about target and bonuses these days. I’ll explain. I used to get a bonus and some funky WF stock. Last year, I was told they knocked off the funky WF stock and in turn I got a much larger bonus. Besides, where you work/live determines the pay area differential. The starting pay in Omaha will be different than the starting pay in NYC for exact same position.
What was great about the pandemic was that some of us started in NYC then moved to Omaha and were able to retain our NYC salary.
Target bonuses didn't matter much anyway. There was often an excuse why the target bonus was never met. I got a bigger bonus with the target lifted.
Yes. I got 87% of the upper bound
Just because there is no stated bonus target, doesn't mean you won't get one. The problem is that nobody knows what it'll be. A completely poor decision by HR
85% of that midpoint would be 122.4k. Not bad - I would take it even with no bonus opportunity. That’d be almost an extra 1k per check.
