Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Can the damage be undone or not?

I'm wondering, has this leadership managed to completely destroy this company, or is there a way to undo at least some of the damage? I personally think we're too far gone. Even if you put the best people in charge (and we all know none of the best would ever accept a job here so this is strictly hypothetical) they would not be capable of fixing everything that's wrong here.

The culture destruction started when the ge guy replaced Desi. It never recovered from that jolt. Mike though has truly napalmed what was left. I think we are on our 5th or 6th layoff now. Maybe the spins can recapture a bit of what made people want to move to a place where the temperatures range from -20 to 99 and ice out on the lakes extends into may some years. Maybe if one of the spins moves to Austin will people be attracted to the remnants.

The 3M of old always stood for things that set standards , when those standards itself have been put on the wayside … what are we looking to build again ?

Someone once wrote, “It's the possibility that keeps me going, not the guarantee.”

I like to think there are always possibilities.
