We all were anticipating additional right sizing moves, but do you think that it was possible that the negative backlash after the initial cuts have forced them to rethink the calendar. Rethinking the when, if not the how many.

Not in the slightest. Historically, they will wait until after their annual CJ known as OracleWorld, Now CloudWorld to do any hacking. Must keep up appearances, after all.
As long as the two at the top are there, nothing will change.
They’re just taking their time over it while they figure out what budgets they will have available and how they’re going to implement new strategies. Then there’s the local consultation/notice laws and CloudWorld to take into account as well. They’re in no rush and in the meetings I’ve been in, they’ve shown nothing but contempt towards employees. They will do it when it suits them and not communicate anything until they’re ready. They don’t care how all this waiting impacts us.
Snakes aren’t capable of blinking
RETHINKING would imply some initial THINKING was done already. Not one of the Oracle Leadership Team's usual activities.
Oracle management did not blink, and to think otherwise is naive. They're just waiting until after October to resume the cuts, as they don't want more negatively publicity right before CW.
Backlash?
What backlash?
If they did blink, it won’t last long. It will be over in a blink, as you say.
