How are things going at your store for rush?

No store manager at the moment. Text Manager is completely useless as are the two team leads. The old store manager never held them accountable for their jobs and now I am trying to hold the pieces together. I cry every night when I go home. When did grown adults need to be micromanaged? For those talking about why we stay... some of us don't have a choice. It's either this or Walmart in my area and they much worse.
We’re being told to cut all temps ASAP. Manager tells me that we’ll have to just “work together” to keep things running, yet she’s always tucked away in the closet office “busy with a lot of things”… My manager also can’t even navigate filling a SODA order. We certainly don’t have the time to chase down every single GOD DAMNED FINANCIAL AID DSV WEB EXCEPTIONS (FOLLETT IF YOU’RE READING THIS, FIX IT… IMMEDIATELY) that are being delivered straight to homes. I am not an mgr or a txt and I’m singlehandedly keeping my store afloat by punching WAY above my pay class. Temp kids were talking casually about pay rates. I told them to take a serious guess at what I make for the amount of work they see me doing in a day... Their response was twice my hourly rate. When asking about the possibility of a raise, they remind me about that stunning 3% company wide raise from 8 months ago. My boss got that same raise and she types with two fingers. Can’t wait to leave.
Yep!!!
"Meet the new boss, same as old boss"
Looks like we got fooled again
Utterly miserable and not worth the pittance I get paid. I feel like crying every day that I go into this impossible situation.
Well, maybe if we had a store manager they could answer this. Northeast not only short staffed of staff but a bunch of stores without managers. RM helping out? Not sure about elsewhere but definitely hasn't been to my store. I can see her calendar shows she is very busy with her own personal stuff, great time to not be available to your stores.
Well we certainly aren't a customer friendly, ease in shopping company. Temps are clueless, not their fault, can't tell a temp everything In a day, at your busiest time.
Maybe if the company looks at lack of people (employees) means lack of sales, service, etc.
Oh, and that Guarenteed sale I could have had, thanks for f-ing that up.
How are things in Nebraska? Hahaha
straw to thin
STRAW TOO THIN
We are college persons, higher education and all...
I stay because I can otherwise have a job that pays even less than my sh---y earnings.
Stockholm Syndrome, really! Is there no straw to thin that you will not grab on to explain away a person behavior,
And yet you stay
Stockholm syndrome...
A coping mechanism to a captive or abusive situation!

A complete sh@@show. With inadequate amounts of staff I cannot get to the phone or my email. Nobody can navigate the digital books. I have given out the brytewave help link to many. Nobody wants to do extra hours because our students have become even more helpless, therefore our job is complete he-l. Nobody can navigate the website in order to buy books. Our technology keeps failing. I’m sure I’ll be getting Covid from all the people in my face. It’s absolutely wonderful.
