Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana is not worth it

For years I put my work first and put in the nights and weekends and extra hours because I thought it would get me somewhere and help me progress. I never did. My superiors were always happy to take advantage of my dedication but there was always a problem when it needed to be rewarded. Now I realize I have done all of that for nothing. I had a lousy quality of life so others could benefit from my work. I was an id--t, but I'm not anymore. I'm done making those above me look good. From now on, they get my bare minimum, if that. I'm ready to be laid off or even fired, I simply don't care anymore.

Doing more does not get you anywhere. They don’t care and they will take advantage of you! And when raises and promotion come up they overlook you. Live your life, and clock out at the time you need!

There is no reason to go above and beyond for any company. This isn't a Humana issue, this is an outdated mentality perpetuated by the boomer generation's "golden age" when you could just "walk into a place and ask for a job". I do my job and do it well, then I clock out immediately on the hour. I do not care if I am in the middle of something. Save your work, log out. Don't go above and beyond. Apply for other jobs, I check Workday every day, as well as with other companies.
