You just missed the initial communication.

Thanks, I did miss that. I remember that message very well. It wasn't in so many words, but the message is spot on.

Right now, a team of Judas steers (look it up) is being assembled to guide these new, unfortunate Oracle employees to um, their new bright careers.

This was done to me as a new O emp via acq. Then, unknowingly, I was doing this to other new acquired employees.

The my way or the highway thing is spot on. Despite Oracle relentless focus on acquiring companies and their IP, they have a total allergy to any outside ideas. That is effed up.

You just missed the initial communication.

"We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile!"

With the big 0's track record for acquisitions actually succeeding long term, I'd say FOEX is doomed as well.

  1. take over the company hostile or otherwise
  2. strip out the culture and general practices they used to have whether they didn't work or was what made them special.
  3. Tell Key people that "it is or way or the Highway, we know best and you know nothing"
  4. Said key people leave
  5. the dreck stay
  6. run the business like a database company
  7. discard unwanted products and technologies that you don't understand or have no interest in.
  8. watch the rest slide into the latrine pit.
  9. repeat with the next company with no post mortem or idea of improving upon the previous efforts.

If I missed anything, please feel free to add in. Unlike big 0's acquisition policies, I aim for continuous improvement.
