Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Anyone else missing Jeff Lemmer?

Under current leadership, I know I am.

No @OP.
Worked with him in his early years at FC. It was not a pleasant experience. Transferred to F largely to get away from his behaviors. A few decades latter I sat upstairs in FMCC while working for F. My cube was near his office. The conversations one heard from people waiting for a meeting with him / exiting a meeting with him were quite enlightening. Very few respected him, most thought he was a flaming jerk. It was quite routine to hear him yelling at people. Most people learn to control their emotions in their 20s, not him. He was still having tantrums in his 50s.

@3huf Ford rescinded the offer something showed up in the vetting. Why Ford didn’t do the vetting before running to the press one would be a question for CarCar.

Nope, the jerk made a bunch of bad decisions just before he retired so HE doesn't have to live with the consequences of them. Totally drank the Hackett Kool Aid. Don't miss him at all.

I have no evidence, but my thought was that Vijay had a couple of meetings with Farley and he didnt like the vision that he had for IT. All of this selling of data hocus pocus and more offshoring might not have sounded appealing to Vijay. But who knows, @2ukf might be right. I used to receive 5:00 am emails from Jeff so there is a significant time commitment.

No. He was bizarre and aloof. For the few encounters I've had, I've always walked away unsure of what I just experienced, from supervisor to CIO. Being Marcy's hatchet man, he rode it all the way to the top. I was watching the first global town hall with Jim Farley and one of the first things he said was that Jeff is retiring. That was as subtle as a flying mallet. For our new CDSO, I scoured the internet thinking I would see dozens of videos, but only found 2. I think he is just a low profile person.

@2abn+1i8oZDXe:
As far as Vijay, what I heard was he saw the time commitment and expectations and called an audible.

Just think where we would be if Vijay wouldnt have bailed after a week or 2 on the job. I bet he saw the writing on the wall.

Lemmer wasn't perfect, but it was better than this free-for-all we are in now. LL3s giving conflicting direction to their troops, and then expecting ITO to support it all. Lemmer was an arrogant jerk, no question, but he at least kept thing uniform for supportability. Ford is headed for some big customer impacting outages because everyone is now doing their own things.

He was a mean spirited fluck who didnt listen to anyone and Marcy would have been more suited to being a cheer leader on the side lines of a football game. I dont miss either one.

Horrible person who never listened to anyone, shouted illogical orders, and sounded like a dictionary of buzz words in those all hands meetings. Worse than useless.

Lemmer was rode Marcy’s coattails for years, just to host all hands meetings to make himself feel like people cared who he was.
