Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

How long

The question is, how long can Oracle endure external and internal pressure to stop cutting heads off.

Externally, Oracle has been flying under the radar. The reason why there is no announcement is that it would be picked up by the press and editorialized. This way only a few comments are out there, simply as rumours.

The government is not commenting, despite the potential ramifications for the mid terms.

The real danger for Oracle is internal. The comment has already been made about downed tools, and I have already seen this in action. Not only will workers down tools, they will walk away! Forget about any new quality employees joining. Who buys tickets to sail on the Titanic after it hits an iceberg?

We can expect additional cuts to happen until the pains become intolerable. I do not see that happens until November and the mid term elections have brought the house and the senate into Republican hands.

The answer here is really simple. Get a job at another company and all your troubles will be over. It’s as simple as that. Oracle is done.

Let’s be clear: O has awful customer service and support because they do not fund it properly, train their techs properly, train their people managers properly and support revenue is used to fund anything but the customer. They sure as he|| don’t use it to provide raises!

Problem with having the Oracle system is because the client has invested so much in it along with the tools to supplement for additional functions, it is really hard to move over to a new system. Would also be costly too. However, if pushed hard enough, customer will do so. Oracle Customer service is horrible.

When my company was acquired 12 years ago some of the sales people met with their new team of existing sales people. One of the quips they got from the existing employees was, "Oracle doesn't have customers, it has hostages." As long as Oracle keeps acquiring products it can milk existing customers for years it will stagger on.

How long can they keep this up? Indefinitely, I'm sure. They've been doing this for years. I can't explain how they get away with their cr-p. They treat employees badly, they treat customers badly, they have lawsuits against them from both former employees and customers, they bury cloud revenue numbers in their reporting, they are known for acquiring and destroying companies, they are known for trying to fit together their acquired software into cohesive stacks but failing, everyone knows pretty much any Oracle software is overly complex and has a terrible UI - not to mention tons of bugs.
And yet, they are still here.
I guess I'm just wrong.
