Well, the 20 year olds we've hired last about 2 weeks after they hit the floor, training is a joke, they aren't given any clue as to what really happens on the floor, they have no bills, no family, and most live at home, first couple stressful days and they Peace out!! They don't have any responsibility and have no reason to stick around, the people that cared about their job and the company, that showed up for work everyday, they've mostly quit and moved on, and now stores are short staffed and most employees could give a rip about the company or the customer!

Age don't need to be directly mentioned in report, just list years of service. No more last hired first fired policy. Now longer you've been here is a negative. They want young TikTok generations to sell to others. They haven't been here twenty years. It makes seasoned reps lose all motivation even though they produce.
100% correct- a few months back they let go of many sales people in GE- mostly men of a certain age- people that had been w/vz for many years- people that were out on medical- once those folks came back they were RIF'd.
I dont recall seeing age in the human capital report.
In the retail sector big red has been known for this. Believe it or not people in their 30’s , 40’s and even 50’s apply for a retail store job all the time. I’ve been with Verizon 14 years now and haven’t seen anyone past the age of 35 hired in the stores. Also just in the last year or so everyone hired has been in their 20’s. To be fair I don’t think the older people would survive doing it anyway. It doesn’t help though that the training has become a disgrace and rep development is virtually non existent..
How. Sam said we are getting high marks in our ESG and DEI numbers. Shocked to hear this.
