I empathize with another poster who is having problems focusing on job search. I made this to-do list to motivate me to take small steps each day. Any other suggestions for the list?
- backup personal stuff and delete from laptop
- same as above, from oradocs
- download pdfs of annual performance reviews and employment info
- save HR info that I’ll need later, like how to send employment verification instructions to potential employers
- make the most of free Oracle University/O’Reilly training
- check HSA balance and get dentist/vision/Rx/doctor appointments done ASAP to max out benefits
- pick up any remaining personal stuff from office
- write LinkedIn recommendations for teammates, boss/boss’ boss, everyone you can honestly comment about
- even just clicking on ENDORSE buttons on skill list counts for something
- UPDATE MY RESUME… omg I don’t know why this was so hard but I did it, finally
- Send resume to ppl you wrote recommendations for and ask them to return favor
- Take a daily walk
- take a daily shower
- find a good playlist and keep playing in the background to keep Vecna away (“running up that hill” is a good start)
