More Layoffs Coming to Cerner

Brace yourselves folks, an SVP who’s been very close to me said we should all brace ourselves, it will be a bumpy ride.

Doesn’t matter if your old, young, experienced, inexperienced, there is no rhyme or reason how they go about cutting they are just cutting. Obviously they are keying in some executives to make the cuts. But what she told me was that she had no clue this was happening to her even though she was consulted. She said she was shocked but she’s been taken care of in terms of a good package.

She said she was part of the team that looked at things and much more is coming.

God speed my Cerner comrades.

She mentioned that offshore will get too and they pretty much deserve it since all the jobs have been going there for the past couple years.

When my husband was let go in 2020 along with 10% of the company (not Oracle) he was given a sheet with the job title and age of those let go. In this CA company, only whites were let go.

Oracle is now a healthcare data company that also happens to sell business applications.

Actually there is "rhyme and reason"

The group that is always targeted first are the "low performers". Of course, you can be tagged as a low performer simply for getting on the boss's wrong side. The rest are mostly randomly chosen, with critical people usually protected, this is done to show there was "no bias" when eliminating positions. I was once laid off many years ago (Not at Oracle) and I was given a sheet that showed the layoff distribution by age, gender and race. And that's how it's done in most of Corporate America, not just Oracle.
