Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

This is turning out to be the longest week of my life

It feels like it'll never end. And there are still two days to go. I'll be so severely lacking sleep by Saturday that I think I'll just sleep through the whole weekend. The fact that there's a realistic chance that layoffs will continue throughout the entire month is making me feel nauseous.

Even tho, Oracle does not care about people. The posters on this thread are proof that people are important to others. We are in this life together.

Encouragement goes along way for all of us. Please post back on this site when you start a new job and/or if need encouragement during this process.

I'm losing sleep too, been @ Oracle for 5 years and haven't been RIFd yet.

Please God, this time!

STOP. Immediately update your resume and start looking for job opportunities.

Best advice. If things get intolerable, leave, go find something else to do. Despite their desire to turn you into one, you are NOT an indentured servant.

Just walk out. With a smile. :D

I have been through many rifs, but never went to point of panic. You should always expect layoffs and keep finance in order to survive.

Worrying about it and not sleeping won't help so just let it be, my friend. Whatever will be, will be. When one door closes another always open...that's one certainty in life. So, make the best of it and stop worrying so much. Good luck!

First, big virtual hug to you.

Second, I agree. Update your resume and own the situation! Don’t wait around for them.

Get some sleep and take care of yourself.

Getting a package was the best part of my Oracle experience. No more listening to my manager worry about her own standing with her invisible boss, micro managing daily, disparaging team members and spreading misery. What a joyless environment - see ya!

Take your career into your own hands. Do not be passive and let Oracle dictate anything to you.
