I think was a clear strategy not to inform anyone, least of all the employees, about the cutbacks in workforce this week.
Which makes me wonder about what else they have decided to withhold information about, like what is the future for O.
I see a major pivot coming up in our business model. You don't buy an acquisition (Cerner) for $28 B unless you have very, very major plans ahead. This was biggest acquisition by far that O has ever done, and also the biggest acquisition last year in tech, and in general one of the biggest acquisitions in the tech space in sometime.
I think it's clear that O is launching itself into the health technology world in a very big way.
They want to leave one very competitive and low margin space behind and enter into a brand new frontier where we will sell Healthcare Technology vs Healthcare services as our major product offering. And don't expect them to tell anybody anything about their plans, because for the moment we are still needed - but what is happening this week is a sign of things to come.
