Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Please tell me there is an exit interview

I'm this close to landing a new job and once I do, I'm hoping to get a chance to tell the company exactly why I'm leaving. My manager won't care if I let him know but he's one of the main reasons I'm leaving anyhow so if I can get him in at least a small amount of trouble that'd be great.

I would like to add that the feedback received in an exit interview is important. Especially when it seems the leader gets away with being a bad leader. The information delivered to upper management is always filtered and that is how poor leaders are able to go under the radar… upper management needs to know the truth.

Also, you can give honest feedback in a professional way that gets the point across but isn’t nasty or make you look bad. Frame it as if you are looking out for the company and other associates and it will be appreciated.

Yes, there are exit interviews. They’re electronic. But you have to do them before leaving. If your manager doesn’t key in the date you’re leaving far enough ahead of time…the exit interview won’t generate. Your manager won’t know what you wrote. It goes to talent management.

I agree with one of the below posters…you may come back to Humana, or some times, you may see old coworkers at a new job. Imagine my surprise when I came on board of the amount of people I had worked with in the past who were in different departments. The exit interview is a formality, there’s really nothing to gain about being negative, no one will get in trouble, partly because If there was a problem, why wasn’t anything said sooner? People tend to leave jobs for 3 reasons…money, supervisors , or location. You are only going to end up possibly hurting yourself in the long run….and, you want to remain eligible to rehire….with all the expansions and buyouts, who knows what opportunities will present themselves?

Don’t waste your time. Move on with your head held high with self respect and knowledge that you’re moving on to greener pastures.

I left in 2019 on good terms for another company. When covid hit my new company furloughed me. Within three weeks I was back on my old team with a better salary. The point i'm trying to make is you never know what can happen (who saw covid coming) and burning bridges in a company as large as Humana could really hurt down the road. Good luck in your new role!

There are few good ones left, they all jumped ship with the last round of layoffs. All of them in my region are a joke.

I would not burn any bridges when you leave. You never know who you’ll work with in the future. You are getting back by leaving. Humana is really struggling right now so if you can get another position in another company you have definitely won. Congratulations!

Exit interviews are just a formality. HR and upper management are excited that people are leaving so they won't have to lay them off. If they find out he was a reason for your leaving, they will probably promote him to help them drive out even more employees.
