Anyone in BC care to comment on what may happen to vmw PSO? Do BC have a large FTE PSO team or is it all outsourced to HCL or other?

PSO is way too bloated. Octane won't care of you are a double VCDX or a principal. Especially as this bunch never seem to be billable. Sorry double VCDXrs you will be done for.
VMware would have been far more successful if it had supported a large, competitive partner community for professional services. Broadcom appears to have sold off PSO for its other acquisitions - which would make this a partner-driven service as it should be.
PSO and it’s Customer Success Daddy are major FAILS. Too bloated, a lot of process, pushes back on anything/everything from the BUs, accomplishes nothing.
Stepanski is PSO, in particular, runs a good ole white boys network of vile, sycophant as-----s.
PSO margins are horrible if compared to the typical consulting business. And that is with an extremely high billing rate. Near double that of partners consultants. I see it being farmed out and let a partner realign margins, or in BC hacks it hard. Fire most unbilling Managers and Directors and anyone who is not billable 70+%. If they follow the 2nd route that eliminates 30-40% of PSO from the get-go.
“100% PS is going outside.”
Thanks for your opinion, but why? What makes you say it?
Unqualified responses such as this are useless without providing any contextual information.
100% PS is going outside.
I can't see PSO being outsourced. It's too vital to growing ARR, especially with EUC. They can and should definitely trim some of the bloat, but I think PSO stays at VMware. Brand is really strong.
What is PSO?
With CA, Broadcom originally outsourced PS to HCL (with the exception of the Federal team). After a couple of years it was determined that the partnership wasn't working as well as hoped, so some subset of personnel were returned to Broadcom to re-form an in-house PS team. I believe one reason was that many Enterprises already had agreements with other GSIs rather than HCL, and the GSIs would block an HCL contract to deploy a Broadcom product. As a result, there was too much shelfware & poor implementations.
They were outsourced, that being said I don't think PS will be outsourced due to how complex some of our software is to install. Decent money in things like custom code written by PS. Though margin is higher.
I think Tanzu PS may be sent to HCL but that is more of speculation then fact.
