Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

Is it just me, or has the situation settled down?

There will be more layoffs probably mid-month, again not impacting NY. But once the disastrous earnings are out they'll have to do something about that office and the CEO.

It will calm down for a while before it happens again. There is a reorg at least once a year, layoffs happen multiple times a year, and it's only gotten worse since we massively overhired during the pandemic. Then we released that stupid 33/33/33 plan that they're trying to mask as "investing in developing countries" when really it's about improving the operational margins - basically fire the experienced people with well-established skillsets to hire young new people at a quarter of the cost in Manila, Guatemala, or India.

You must be new to PayPal.

They are only doing so many per quarter. July starts a new quarter so I expect they will start up again this month, and then another round in Oct.

There have been no layoffs or talk of more layoffs for two weeks. I'm taking this as a positive sign.
