Don't stay there because you think this is the best you can get. That place (BPX) is not competitive. Its not premier.
I left several months ago and I was super depressed. This place stagnated my career. There is very little opportunity to grow there. I thought my time as an engineer was over. They treated me like dirt. They walked all over me and did not respect me or my time. I look at these posts and I can see how many people have been hurt by this place. Its awful. You have to take control of your career. Get out of there. The leaders back stab and talk sm--k about eachother. There is no trust.
I landed a phenomenal job at a different E&P and things are way better now. They treat me like a person and they see my value and worth. I stayed at BP so long I had forgotten how good this industry can be. I just heard that most of the HR team just quit BPX. The writing is on the wall. People aren't putting up with it anymore. Benefits are dwindling and the stock price is in the toilet compared to other majors. Top talent is leaving all the time. I'm going to lunch soon with 5 individuals who recently left or who are about to leave.
Let this be an encouragement to you. Get out of there. That place is not worth it. You will be much happier elsewhere unless you are a part of the "in crowd" at BPX. You know what I mean if you've worked there more than a few months.
On another note, it does appear that there is 2 or 3 people relations folks that they have hired to post on this board to muddy the waters around the toxic culture this company has. Look through the feeds and you will notice this as a common theme. Don't be fooled by it.
There is life on the other side of that place. Trust me.
