Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

JV leaving for health reasons & Fuji deal may be back on

Lots of rumors about these two topics.
We can all tell he looks like he-l and have suspected issues for months.
Would anyone really be shocked if the Fuji deal is resurrected? How else will Carl get his money out? There certainly aren’t any other potential buyers on the horizon.

There was shuffling at the top last week when the Fell man took a hit. There might be much more to come.

Xerox as you know it will not survive the coming deep recession. Neither will any notion of receiving a lump sum RIGP payout. Change my mind.

I agree. It drives me nuts that the CEOs only sign their first name and nothing else.

JV was nowhere close to being the worst CEO.

That title belongs to UB, and will never be taken away.

I hope Steve B stands for Steve Buschemi. That would be the best case scenario for this place.

Why doesn't anyone in this company sign anything with a real last name? Am I supposed to know who "steve' is? Write your last name in your email.

"John was passionate about his workforce and an inclusive leader known for his “One Boat, One Team” call to action and mentality."

Seriously!!!....the only thing he was passionate about was making Carl Icahn happy. He never cared about the employees no matter what level they were at. He will go down as one of the top worst CEO's Xerox ever had!!! I hope his last thoughts were all the people's lives he destroyed trying to make Carl Icahn happy!!

Fuji deal may not be out of the table. It is actually a win-win move:

  • Fuji expands & strengthen operations outside APAC overnight with people that know their business & technology at a sale at bargain prices (XRX stock $15,82) within industry consolidation trends;
  • Icahn gets rid of part of his stock package (keeps another chunk converting Xerox shares in Fuji shares) while selling some business pieces that Fuji may not be interested in (Fittle, CareAR) to make some extra money.

Xerox may have a good last dance with Fuji before going into the Valley of Oblivion.

I would believe JV leaving based on appearances. I won't believe for a second the Fuji deal is back on. That ship has sailed.

fuji recently announced they have acquired an inkjet integrator in europe and looking to expand their dealer network in europe. They are still investing in the space.
annual revenues for those remaining _ HP $65.5B _ Canon $32.5B _ FujiFilm $21B _ Ricoh $16.1B _ Xerox $7B _ KM $6.7B _ Then there are conglomerates _ Sharp $22.8B _ Toshiba $28.2B _ Kyocera $11.6B Xerox isn't the big fish they once were and is going to get swallowed.

If they sell off print, the rest will quickly be bogged down by way too high OH cost. Cash flow in the remaining business will be abysmal, and the only person who thinks CareAR is a hot item is Steve B. Wall Street has already figured out it is a bunch of cr-p solutions with no real value. If you don’t believe me, look at the share price…

walking taco machine

Excellent, but please paper over the production print controller in this contraption. Those "cool young people" would projectile ba-f if they see Java.

Likely would be replaced by SB. He's good with the analyst community on Wall Street.

Agree with the "sum of the parts" comment. No one wants the whole enchilada. The CareAR (what a stupid name), Finance/Leasing, Fittle (another stupid name), XMPie.....all could go to outside buyers.

I'd question the sanity of anyone interested in our IT org though. What a cluster they are.

Think about the refrigerator shaped fountain drink machines at Wendy's for example. An upcycled Iridesse could be made into a nacho/ walking taco machine that could be placed at popular locations with cool young people resulting in Xerox once again being synonymous with something useful and worthy enough and dance in the same room as KFC.

it's unlikely a single deal happening. Xerox moved to a holding company so all the pieces could be sold off. unlikely to be a single buyer who wants all of Xerox, which means no single buyer is willing to pay full market value. But, someone might buy Fittle, and someone else will probably buy Elemx, and someone may be interested the IT services business, and someone would look into acquiring CareAR and XMPie, and someone who looks a lot like Fuji may be interested in purchasing a slimmed down Xerox sales channel. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole.
