Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is this possible?

We have an opening on our team and I know a guy who'd be perfect for it but he was recently laid off (it's been less than three months - he worked for a different department). I don't want to tell him about it until I'm certain he can apply. Is there anything that's part of the severance package that says he can't apply at WFC for a certain period/forever?

They'll have to do fake interviews of 2 other people first.

I believe if you return to WF within 6 months you can keep your tenure/seniority. At least that used to be the case.

Talk to your boss about him so he can get cleared through the garbage HR process faster.

It may not be doing your friend any favor if he got a package, and then is able to get a job someplace else.

Thank you for the info. The guy knows his stuff and would definitely be an asset, so this is good news for me as well.

Oh, I'd also add that I went thru that 10+ years ago. Moved to a new group, reorg happened and the new leader (dipsh*t) decided several of us weren't needed. As I was one of the last guys hired (including my boss) they laid me off and a few others. I had 30 days working + 30 days nonworking. I applied for positions and landed one before my 60 days was up so I just moved into the new position after the new year (this happened in November of that year)

As far as I know you can apply even after you've been laid off (in the 60 days you're still an employee). If you get the job during the 60 days you don't lose your seniority. After that, you're starting over.

I'd apply ASAP before he goes on severance.

I believe it’s just the 60 day notice period during which he can’t apply because he’s technically still considered to be in his old role, but then after that he should be good to go!
