ECMO: What Is Going On?

My entire site was moved to a different department. No information has been given to us other than we now have new positions. The positions aren't really in line with what we were doing previously and the folks in the new department seem to be resentful that we are there. These folks are nasty towards the ECMO folks.

It doesn't seem like this change is permanent because the ECMO people are treated differently and separately from everyone else. They seem very cautious about assigning duties to us and make it pretty clear we are not apart of their teams. We are "those ECMO people". Information is nil. Just wondering what is the plan. I know no one here would know but it is crazy how all these changes have happened with no word, reassurance, a f*** you, or anything from those at the top.

Does anybody have any idea what is happening with the ECMO peeps that have been reassigned to new departments? What's happening to the teams that stayed in ECMO? Also, what is the future of ECMO? Does it even have a future?

I noticed in teamworks that folks who remained in ECMO are now listed as being in Consumer Products or something like that instead of ECMO.

For those that don't know, ECMO is Enterprise Complaints Management Office.

And the remnants of ECMO, who have been moved from one LOB to another (EO to temporary workforce share to CSBBO) are now being asked to take voluntary time off with NO pay. You’re welcome Wells Fargo, these case workers got you to pass validation, but now we see what it really is. I hope everyone in CSBBO quits and finds better jobs.

I can tell you whats going on. 2020, I was tasked to assist some ppl doing a project. It was super hush hush so i knew it was bad news. Once I finally got through the vail O mystery, they were standing up basically call centers. At first I thought it was for CS then realized it was for ECMO. The thing is, it was to be deployed in waves. At first, they would transition “1 level work” to overseas and let go of some ppl, while promoting some to level 2. The #s are an example. Then, they would roll 2 level wk over and do the same thing. Some would move into other departments. Basically, others are correct, your days are numbered even if it’s semi-long term. ECMO is just a centralized team so they aren’t supposed to be the expert or department that handles X. So, the branch employee doesn’t get the purpose. There are CFPB and other Regs that will ALWAYS require the work ECMO does. The function WILL NOT go away even if the employees are outsourced. Your new “mngr” is the enemy. Look elsewhere. Good luck, OP.

I was part of the 1st ECMO layoffs back in Nov. 2021. “Effective immediately, ECMO is no longer operating El Monte”…Outsourced to India and Philippines! So much for an American Company operating overseas! They call him Chainsaw Charlie! Racist Fool!

It just so happens July 14 is a Thursday. I think we all know what happens on Thursdays around here.

I'm ECMO Frederick Maryland. We have NO office. Last year we were told we would work from home Indefinitely. January 2022 we were redeployed to Wells Fargo Bank until July 14, 2022. After 12 years in home mortgage I now take calls for the bank. I don't know what is going on but after IFR, the company was told as a whole they would be cutting thousands of jobs in the future. Seems the future is now
Good luck!

It happened to other ECMO groups in March, they were moved to the banking phone team as a “redeployment”, which “expires” 7/14. We’re all jumping ship or waiting for our pink slips.
Start looking gif a new job.

Fair enough and I appreciate the reply. I’m sure you’ve gotten that experience with branch bankers as well. Good and bad employees everywhere.

arw+1hqSNg4V.....that's good to hear that some of you got promoted without having to apply. I wasn't so lucky. I am just waiting to see how all this ends up.

qwp+1hqSNg4V.....Like I said we have been assigned to new departments. My direct manager is from this new department and calls me "one of those ECMO people" and the group of us in general "those ECMO people." My manager is one of the nasty people I was referring to. So, asking that person has gotten me no where.

No clue about your situation. But I hope your managers finally let you know what's going on. In my group, our leader announced a month ago that people will be moved around as needed, including getting promoted to new positions without doing job postings. My team was shuffled like a deck of cards two weeks ago. Most of my colleagues have been replaced.

Can't you just ask your manager?

The ECMO moved to Consumer complaints were asked to volunteer for time off with no pay btw. the writing is on the wall to find another job asap. Everyone knows the ECMO leaders wayyyy over compensated with too many hires. Just a matter of time. Say bye bye 👋

@aka+1hqSNg4V...Also, I have had just as many problems when dealing with the branch employees. It's alot you guys don't know or understand about banking. Honestly, if it wasn't for the new accounts scandal ECMO, most likely, never would have existed. The overwhelming majority of those fraudulent accounts were opened by branch bankers.

@aka+1hqSNg4V....What you describe is an issue with leadership not the peons who do the work. But, regardless that you don't like the department and how it's run that doesn't mean the workers shouldn't be informed on the plan for our department.

As a branch banker - you guys are terrible. No one ever owns anything.

If I want a problem resolved for my client, I’m required to micromanage you guys. Which I’m ok doing, I get paid well to do it.

But my goodness, get some pride and dignity people. “That’s not my department” and “I met SLA requirements and sent a letter” rather than actual resolving of issues is just such low quality work.

I think it is like this all over WF. Absolutely ZERO transparency. Most people fearful of losing their jobs.

And I think this is what management wants.
