Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Many will realize now how stagnant they've become

I've been looking for a job for a while. Why do I think that it will be the most difficult to get a new job for those who were most comfortable here? I don't regret giving it my best here for one reason only. It wasn't valued here at all, but my hard work will be rewarded in the future.

Being comfortable in this company was easy. You just had to show ruthless behaviors against coworkers, lick the bosses boots once in a while and enjoy all the goodies the top dogs give you. The gifts would be something else. Even human rights violations would not be below the top dogs or their favorites.

The issue with this company was they there were far too many folks who were comfortable with it. Turns out that these folks will have a rather tough time meeting the requirements of the real world jobs from day to day. Seeing how work was done here, I would not want even a single connection with them ever.

The whole company was fraudulent, when you work closely with these folks you’ll realize the muck you get into because of their elite superstars. The legal issues are only a testimony to how work was done inside it.

When people get out, it takes a pretty high price for them to wash their sins of working inside 3m. Most recruiters won’t even take the resume seriously specially for tech folks.

If you spent any considerable amount of time in this icy shithole, chances are you were a part of the problem.

Honestly, anyone that actually knows what they are doing has already left. I simply don’t understand how the board of directors hasn’t fired and replaced the full corporate operating committee. More of the same we have had the last few years just isn’t going to work.

That’s what happens when your best work is ppt design. If you developed tangible skill sets, you’d be in a better place.

In all probability, you got into the cycle of sycophancy in the company getting easy promotions for rubbing your nose. Spend a little more time on what people of your experience are expected to do in other companies if you want to get a job now in the market
