I noticed today at my site that you must now badge to leave. I'm sure this is related to big brother watching that everyone has RTO and isn't leaving early. Isn't this a safety issue? What happens if there is a fire or mass shooting and everyone is trying to get out of the building as fast as possible? Are we supposed to wait as every one of us badges out and goes through the rotating doors? Did anyone else experience this?

My building just changed as well. Week before last you didn't have to badge out to leave. Last week you had to badge out.
If there's a fire alarm no way should you have to badge out. In fact you're supposed to leave via the nearest emergency exit. WTF. Who in their right mind would make you badge out during an emergency evac?
I used to work at a location that did this here at Wells and we did have a fire once. We all had to badge out and when we asked about it later, they said they need us to swipe to leave so they can run reports to id missing ppl. If you swiped in and never swiped out, did u scootch past or are you dead? Hmm? So insane!

The doors are supposed to be released if there's a fire alarm.
In reality, one of two things is going to happen: either there's a real fire and the doors DON'T release; or there's a mass sh00ting and the g*unman gets inside because somebody pulled the fire alarm and the doors DID release.
Either way people will be ki11ed. No severance for them. WF wins, you lose. Again.
question for you peeps. i've seen a report that shows this one person, says they were working from home. certainly didn't swipe in / out of the office. didn't even log into the network. no emails sent out (mobile). who is wrong? the person ruining it for the rest of us by abusing or the company for finding out?
normal, its why I think its crazy people come in office for 2 hours and think they are getting away with something. Also, they track IPs

I noticed the same...last week walk up and get out automatically.....this week badge required to exit. You may recall a certain exec calling that out as an improvement to RTO....no badging out. LOL.....what a circle jerk.
It wasn’t always badge out in the new 550/600 spaces. That was implemented about 6mo to a year after opening, when protesters took over the lobby and proceeded to ride elevators up to floors.
The fire alarm will release the door locks to allow you to leave the building without swiping.
Big Brother is watching. They have always had badge out in Minneapolis and Des Moines, but the managers get a report and they check it depending on how much of an attendance na-i the slightly higher middle manager is.

They like to trap you in the building so when there's a big fire you burn alive stuck at the revolving doors.
You can leave through the emergency exit if the alarm sounds. I’m in St. Louis and I’ve been late to pick up a child from daycare because the reader wouldn’t work right on my way out and I didn’t want to find out what the consequence was for sounding the alarm on the emergency door.
