There was an all hands meeting today and we were told the Lemmon Ave plant in Dallas tx is closing officially as of 12/31/24. No questions were allowed to be asked. Most of us expect to be laid off long before that date.

Great decision. Lay them off in early November. So you don't have to pay holiday pay. Rest assure Mckinney. You're layoffs will continue into 2024. And most likely the ones at the head of the line. Will be those Lemmon Ave. People. That transfers to Mckinney.
Per Newspapers. The shut down happens in early November. The newspapers said that the final 27 working employees their. Would be laid off. And they announced that others there. Would be relocated to other North Texas Facilities. Most likely the Paper/Pencil Pushing Desk Jockeys.
Raytheon Dallas Texas Lawsuit. April 17, 2014. Just google this. Very alarming this was. To illustrate what went on out there.
This double standards that leadership had out there. Was very alarming. One individual took alot of scrap metal out of the dumpsters out back. For a long time. When this individual finally got caught. Leadership said to bring all scrap metal back. To keep this individual's job. This individual only brought back a mere fraction of the scrap metal. Another instance. One individual falsefied his labor out there for many years. Under 2 seperate managers. Groupleaders, Production resource, and others notified this indivual's 2 seperate managers. But managements response. Was Quote. They did not want to make any waves here in this building. So since. These 2 managers have retired. And that individual is still out there until the end of this year. And common cause. They are both minorities. Double standards leadership had out there. While other individuals were let go for the mere little reasons.

And lets not forget our great assembly workers in the back of the building. Also our great warehouse workers. Who were also spread thin. To do alot of work understaffed.
What caused this shutdown. Was overhead. The floor people was spread thin. Q.C. Quality Control had to cover many areas. Because of lack of Q.C. support. Because of leadership mistakes. The Machinists was spraed thin. Because of having to cover 2 to 3 machines. And at times 4 machines. Job Ready Tech was spread thin. By covering many areas. Leadership put alot of pressure on the floor people. And leadership kept creating more chair jobs. So much overhead. Some had said that. There was up to 12 to 14 overhead people. Per floor person that touch the machined part on the floor. Q.C. Qaulity Control, Machinist, and Job Ready Tech. People on the floor was spread thin . To cover many assignments. While Leadership was creating many chair jobs to push a pencil. You know. Those paper/pencil pushing, chair warming, desk jockeys.

Chronic Deceptive Serial Liars.
Deceptive Serial Liars were the Leadership Team. When they had that diversity internal machinist program. One manager brought over one their trainees. The manager told us that this trainee was at the top of the current training class. So this manager left him over at our area. Soon the PR over the internal trainee program. Came over and told us. That this trainee had crashed the CNC LATHE AT Richland College. This trainee last 2 days in our area. Leadership are Deceptive Serial Liars. For many deceptive and lying decisions they had made. Using select people to set up other employees. Then ousting them for just cause. Then soon the Leadership Team turn the tables on those select people.
By ousting them. Total Deceptive Serial Liars the Leasership Team was.
Everything rises and falls on Leadership. Quote from Mr. John C. Maxwell. Renowned Leadership Expert.
And I strongly believe. That outside Corporate is going to continue this chain reaction. By ousting this Lemmon Ave. Building's Leadership Team eventually. Either here at Lemmon Ave. Or after they transfer to Mckinney. It will happen. Everything rises and fall under management.
Leadership used a select group of people. To get people ousted out there. For just cause. Then Leadership did the same thing to this same select group of people out there. By ousting them. And now with the fate of the entire building. This was just poetic justice.
That Raytheon Missles Systems strike in Tucson. Started the next day. Monday November 6, 2006. And soon after. Those Raytheon non union Machinist from Lemmon Ave. Plant in Dallas. Was sent to Tucson. And once again. Corporate Raytheon. You are the lowest of the low.
Sunday November 5, 2006. Hundreds of Machinist employed by Raytheon Missles Systems in Tucson. Had voted that Sunday November 5, 2006. To reject the company's Final Labor Contract. So all the Union Machinist went on strike at the Raytheon Missles Sytems in Tucson. Then Raytheon deployed non union Machinist from the Lemmon Ave. Plant in Dallas. To keep the Raytheon Missles Systems in Tucson operating. Thank You Corporate Raytheon. You are lower then dirt.
REMAX LISTING. 6000 LEMMON AVE. DALLAS TEXAS 75209. $14,676,380.00 EST.
I wonder if the upstairs little office boy from the corner. Will be relocated.
I feel very sad for all the floor people here at Lemmon Ave. But for all those paper/pencil pushing desk jockeys there. I don't share that same saddness.
Corporate Raytheon Technologies would be foolish. To relocate this Leadership from the soon defunct Lemmon Ave. Site.
September 2023 now. The doors will shut and locked. From sources.
LEMMON AVE. LEADERSHIP TEAM. COULDN'T MANAGE A LEMONADE STAND.
I WONDER IF THE LEADERSHIP TEAM FROM LEMMON AVE. WILL GO TO MCKINNEY. TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE. AFTER 12-31-2023 LEMMON AVE. CLOSING.
I wonder how many paper/pencils pushers. A.K.A. Desk Jockeys. From Lemmon Ave. Will go to McKinney.
12-31-2023. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. SEE YOU'RE LEADERSHIP TEAM AT MCDONALDS.
I find a couple of things very interesting. 1) that they have tried to sell off this business before and the environmental issues with the site have put off any potential buyers. Why do they think it will be different? 2) people are clearly passionate about this site - both positively and negatively. 3) it is a shame to hear that the machine tools have not been kept up to date. In the 80s it was state of the art and people were proud to work there. I do know that there were manufacturing issues in the last 8-10 yrs. I don’t know the root cause but it made me sad to see how things had degraded. As the very first TI building before it was TI, it has some nostalgia but that seems to have also been lost over time. But the merger with UTC really was not a merger of equals and with most mergers the other side of the equation usually takes a hit. I do have very fond memories of my time there and have some life long friendships!
I wonder if McKinney is going to
take some of those paper and pencil pushers from Lemmon Ave???
Previous replies were correct. This building was old and outdated. Over 70 years old. This building was. Everytime it rained. The roof always leaked. ALWAYS. Personel would have to put out trash cans onto the hallway's floors. To control the rain water from spreading all over the hallway's floors. This was a problem throughout this old outdated building. I worked their for over 40 years. And this was a problem with this leaking roof problem. Throughout my entire 40 years there. Great choice corporate. In shutting down this over 70 year old outdated building.
These Raytheon liberals back east. And far west of Arizona and California. Will eventually shut down North Texas. They are very Union driven.
Mmmm. Trinity Mills Site. Lewisville Site. Sherman Site. Dallas Lemmon Ave. Site. R.I.P.
McKinney Site????????
I hope the employees at Raytheon Lemmon Ave. Has smooth transition to their new career jobs at another company. We were all family out there.
Welp the Lemmon closure has officially been moved up to the end of 2023 instead of 2024. I worked there for over 4 decades and never thought the plant would close until the “merger” with UTC put the writing on the wall and the work dried up. Glad I got out but it bothers me that so many people will soon be out of a job. Despite all the negative things people have said there were many good workers and even managers I worked with over
the years. The facility improved greatly over my time there and I’m glad I was able to work there as long as I did.
The old and outdated machines in that building. Constantly leaked hydraulic oil and coolant fluids onto the floors. Through out that old building. Causing unsafe conditions. Previous replies were absolutely correct. Old and outdated machines at that building.
TOXIC ENVIRONMENT IT WAS OUT THERE. THE INSIDE OF THAT OLD BUILDING HAD SAFETY ISSUES. IT WAS TIME TO SHUT IT DOWN.
A toxic enviroment it was out there. Because of them.
