Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It's self-explanatory...

Managers going up the vertical ladder are starting to complain and gripe about productivity dropping and errors increasing.

They are all raising a fuss when I am laughing and showing them a mirror.

A big delicious fat mirror all shiny and glowing and sparkling.

You let all of your experienced workers leave without trying to retain them or never addressed their concerns.

Then you brought everyone back to the office in some blanket sweep of everyone without considering the higher production numbers of some departments WFH which dropped productivity and morale to the cellar.

And now you are running around like Daffy Duck going "I don't understand it! How can these errors be happening and production be dropping?" You lost your staff.

Most of them don't even care anymore if you lay them off.

They are just doing their job and going home.

The few SME or experienced workers left are looking to leave following the ones who left before out the open gate.

Man, for those managers honestly asking that question proves they shouldn't even be in that position to ask that question.

Are they that ignorant and out of touch? Look in that shiny mirror please.

It's self-explanatory.

Sounds like most of you need to make perfecting your resume, updating LinkedIn and getting a professional headshot your second job. Trust me, I left the sinking WF ship almost a year ago. There are plenty of opportunities out there OUTSIDE of the mortgage business for developers, requirements and project managers. You can negotiate for a better salary, same or better leave/pto and I guarantee almost any other organization has a better 401K plan and insurance benefits. Make the Jump!!

Wells has the laziest middle management I’ve ever seen. Their whole sole purpose is to manage the team and catch errors. They consistently complain about both. If every project was perfect and completed with no errors, why would you command your fat middle manager salary?

@hcq+1hnDQoi7 It’s a trap! This happened to me! My boss told me to “let some things go” so it would “get management’s attention” then, when I did as he said he told his manager it was because I was doing a cr---y job!

Beware! This is just a way for cr---y managers to pass the buck down to the people they aren’t managing well so they can justify staying while the good people get chewed up and sp-t out.

Good luck with your offers!

That is what you get when you make managers from cr---y developers because your good managers left from all the BS.

@hcq I’m in the same spot after having my workload triple due to departing colleagues at more senior levels and a lot of it isn’t event my subject matter. So learning entirely new regulations, products and of course all the micromanaging layers of rules I have to follow to fill out all the endless forms that managers seems to have no knowledge of. Plus every day something breaks - a report stops working or there’s a technical problem or I still can’t get access to the systems I need and management’s response is “keep trying”. Uh no, the only trying I’m doing now is getting out with a job before I lose it and just walk out in the middle of rescession

Preach OP! I’m one of the few SMEs left and looking. My boss piles more and more work on me then, when I tell him working 10+ hours/day can’t go on I get lectured about not being able to do it all and if I keep grinding away no one will know I need help!

WTF - YOU should know because I’m telling YOU I need help and all you give me is MORE work.

This place goes between incompetence, gaslighting and chaos. The first gig that comes through and I’m gone. I have 3 external roles I finished all interview rounds for last week and am just waiting for an HR decision. I’d take any one of them.

Better yet, take any Excel file, open it in any text editor and change the first few characters.

If they bother to try to look at it, the spreadsheet won't open. You bought yourself an extra day. The file must have been corrupted.

I used this trick from time to time to buy and extra day or two in turning in papers if I needed it.

I'd send them a file that couldn't be opened, but editing it updated the timestamp.

Then I'd use the extra time to finish my work and when the professor emailed that he couldn't open it, email the finished paper back.
