Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Domestic Death

In Syracuse, NY walk into a Wegmans and you’ll see multiple out of stocks and nothing on sale. Price Chopper does have some sales items but they’re not impressive. Between 20-25% of Mondelez’s business is domestic. Their strength is in global sales. Keeping DSD at this point is a futile resource. I’m surprised they still have it. They should cut their losses and start by having their customers warehouse the inventory. It eliminates all the drivers, the sales reps, and the useless managers who contribute very little to the success of the company. It’s all about the bottom line. Mondelez will probably figure this out eventually.

LMAO...look at the stock fall now! Look at Kellogg stock, BAM! Kicking our bu-t. Every store I shop is loaded with Kellogg displays, 3-1 over Mondelez WITHOUT a rep! Duh!
Enjoy your Mercedes you got with you Mondelez stock. I am sure enjoying my new Jeep Grand Wagoneer, pulls my boat perfectly to my lake house..all bought with the settlement money Mondelez paid me for all their stupidity. Made my forced retirement well worth it! Not a bad life at all....thanks to my DM! District mo--n!

46 percent over 5 years is not good at all lmao. A standard etf holding preforms better. There are stocks from companies that treat there employees better that have well over a 100 percent return a year...

Coming soon?

Not sure where you are, but we already have them.

The company just waits until a rep quits, then distributes the reps stores to the current employees.

Super territories have to mean fewer reps, but consensus seems fo be that there will not be severance offers.

Companies pride themselves to attract top talent but implementing incentives to make their employees feel valued....NOT Mondelez! Management has run this company into the ground as far as making it a desirable place to work. Field sales employees are treated like dirt while management is out at happy hour....has happened time and time again. Don't expect things to change, be the change and get out.

To the poster below about the stock price: Stock price is not necessarily an indicator of how "good" a business is doing. Just ask Gamestop or Amc investors. Any novice stock trader knows that. And by the way, WHEN dsd goes away, the stock price will go even higher because shareholders want that to happen. Extreme cuts to the cost of dsd will positively impact the bottom line. And their wallet

Business is doing fine??? This is the US. We are supposed to be "better" than 3rd world countries. So you think it's okay that Mondelez treats the employees like indentured servants??? Like peasants??? Employees are worked into the ground for this companies profits??? I call BS on this company. MANY companies pay well, treat their employees well AND still turn a profit. Treating employees like cr-p is a choice. Mondelez CHOOSES to treat employees poorly. It's actually COMPLETELY unnecessary.

Nabisco you’re only a stock person. There’s no selling anymore all the orders are written for you each day. How are you supposed to sell the stores that she only go to once a week. It’s only cookies and crackers it’s not brain surgery. He’s looking for a scale job of the company cares about you go somewhere else. You will be much happier.

Kellogg consistantly has more in my stores than they ever had when dsd

Get the facts before you speak, you sound a bit stupid in regards to Kellogg.

Maybe you should look at Kellogg's and their split. Their Project K that stopped DSD did not work and they were left years behind MDLZ. and now with a split they will have to add in more expenses to compete as warehouse will not grow it just stabilizes.

Just a quick glance at the COSTS of dsd is enough to know that there is no way it can be more profitable. Insurance, pensions, vacations, salaries, vehicles, a huge payroll (especially people that have been there 25 plus years). Also absolutely no one will stay there for long anymore after they get a good dose of what mondelez has to offer as far as help/support. You go from that to paying for the normal cost of business and some 16 year old Walmart employees to put them on the shelf. I know people try to say that "selling" creates more revenue. But ask yourself.. when was the last time you actually "sold" anything of real monetary substance. Most if not all stores are scripted now and your real manager is the guy at Walmart or Kroger you have to see every day. They don't even want mondelez displays/prds now, just wait until they are forced to put them out when they come from their own trucks. The worst part is, mondelez executives and higher ups will still be around after and regular people that carry the load will be let go.
