The author of the article probably thought of it as a joke, but it is amusing to reflect on the many parallels to Sauron!
He is one of the original, a man of old, and as Sauron is the maker of the rings of power, he is the creator of the database, which alters and corrupts all who wield it.
Sauron is all seeing, and micro manages all decisions made by his army. He empowers an army of managers, the Nazgûl to enforce his will. Their head man, ruling by temper tantrums, driving fear into the hearts of all around him!
Only a few have seen the Eye, as in stays confined within the Tower of Lanai.
For those who read the book to its end will know that Dark Lord does not win, despite his enormous power. He is brought down by the least likely of hero’s. Time is not on his side!
