Management obviously doesn't understand a thing or two about people working for them. How can they expect employees whose jobs are constantly threatened by layoffs to be as productive as possible?
Who can manage to be fully productive in such atmosphere? Everyone here already knows that giving their best does not mean that they will not be the target of the layoffs, so managing by fear is totally insane.

on the nose my friend.
On a side note i've heard that sales is about to be cut and all of NA onboarding in July. This would be a group i was told was safe. I'll know how trustworthy my informant was shortly I guess. (no he isn't fired yet he just knows a talker)
