The only ones who use the orcl db are those whose large systems are too costly to
migrate / have legacy code/old mngmt/kickbacks from orcl

My, how the once mighty has fallen. Oracle will be gone within 5 years.

Oracle fell too far behind other much more aggressive competitors like Snowflake and Mongo, and it has zero chance of ever regaining the market share they’ve lost. Stick a fork in Oracle, they’re cooked.

Yep, exactly what the entire universe knew and has known, and why O is trying so hard to pivot to cloud and subscriptions. Impending recession and Gawd knows what for the tech sector is not going to help. As the kids say, sh|te is getting real.

Whats new here? Oracle's long timers are the only ones who believe that ORCL holds DB dominance. If you go outside the banking/finance sector, a lot of them have chosen more modern technologies .. Starting from snowflake/mongo/hadoop/elastic etc, the data store world has evolved. No one wants to be stuck with licensing tussles .
