Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Unemployment is starting to sound like a preferable option

It feels like all I do is work including on weekends and all the while I keep getting paid below the industry standard for my regular position without all the extra work I've been putting in. People say that hard work pays off, well I'm yet to see that. I might be young but that doesn't mean I don't have a life outside of work. I might be able to stomach this if the pay was good, but I'm barely making it as it is. So what am I doing this for? Who am I doing it for, because it certainly isn't me?

Please look up Zig Ziegler! He was my compass at your age. And yes my long hours and hard work paid off in the long run. I retired as a millionaire just months ago, and at 59. The companies benefits made that possible!

Mid-year review time. Everybody's going to have "performance issues" because we're doing like 3 people's jobs.

Stop doing the extra work. Work your 40 and go home. It’s never going to better by working yourself to death. That will just be your new normal. They will only fix the problem when the process breaks, not the people.

As someone who VSRP’ed in September due to poor management, I recommend gutting it out as long as the pension is offered. That is one he-l of an incentive

They're deliberately understaffed and working overtime enables that. Put that energy into your job search.
