12/31 wont be decided this early. Max 3 months in advance. So if anything I expect off books 9/30

Sure as cr-p Sherlock. Captain Obvious. I love these people who act like we should just be prepared and everything will be fine and if aren't prepared then we only have ourselves to blame. I get it. Preparation is important. But it's like with death. Trying to be prepared is all good, but death still sucks and screws up your plans to some degree for most people. Yea we can try to be prepared to be laid off at any time, but actually being laid off will really suck for most people and will likely disrupt your life at least in the short term, no matter how much you've prepared.
Layoffs are the way of big corporations - they all have them.
If you are not prepared, that's on you - plan for worst, hope for the best.

Already a eisp announced off the payroll by 9/25. But people said it would never happen yeah right but it is happening , I bet this was in the works before the contract was even signed .

Retired this year...no regrets at all. Don't expect to ever see another package for craft, plain and simple. Only RIFs ahead and for sure there is almost always a 'Home for the Holidays' RIF. Verizon will RIF down to the last employee before it admits its failures and reduces the dividend.
Yes. The package includes 12 weeks pay per year of service. Free Verizon service for life. And the opportunity for rehire. It's gonna be great

Why would they give people 4+ months notice. Even if they have these plans lined up they aren't going to tell anyone until November or later.
