Hiring is taking place daily. I know this to be true for OCI and I'm sure it's the same elsewhere as well. Why is this the case? Why are we hiring more people when we supposedly need to cut up to $1 billion in cost? Shouldn't there be a hiring freeze instituted before anything else?

Same here. It is a little crazy. They are not even trying to place people who will be laid off. The people who they are bringing on are nothing to write home about.... It seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Siloed orgs.
No hiring across CX where the impact will be felt on Monday. Good for OCI though.
Look at how little they are paying the new hires to do the same work under different job titles of the ones that are gone.
Seems like it. I expect it is just massive disorganization within management that makes it so. Another good reason to get out of the company.
