The cuts will start from now until end of the year. Ford has bad management and disengaged workforce
No MBA needed to see that !

You may not want to wait too close to the benefit commencement date of 12/01/22. There may be a flash crowd of retirees that overload the retirement system causing delays in processing paperwork resulting in missing the deadline.

Why pull the trigger by 10/15?. Where did you get that date from. You have until 10/31.

Enough of the LL2 manipulation,,, oh please just keep your nose to the grindstone until I can chop you. Everyone just kick back and coast and let the LL2s fail to meet any of their objectives. Pick up a side hustle/job. Once all the cuts are done, you can do some work at Ford, or not.

Be very careful on when you depart. The interest rates have gone up. When they went from roughly 2.5% to zero the lump increased by 20%, they now have gone back up by 2.5% so it reasons that the lumps will go down by 20%. Assuming interest rates stay the same- For many people with 35 years, you'll never grow that back, Even with 31,32 years it won't grow back. For some folks it'll take about 3 years to come back. So Pension wise, you are essentially working for free for those years. When I add my salary in, it takes two years (salary+ pension growth) to equal the lump loss. So I'd be working for free for two years..... If you do go, make sure you RECEIVE your lump in 2022. Anything you get after that is the new interest rate. So, you have to pull the trigger by 10/15 with an effective date before 11/30 or you risk it delaying into next year (imagine the backlog). Good luck everyone.

Yes. I also remember the post from that person who is a lower level LL, whose spouse is a LL2. His post got deleted some how.

What happened to the replies from the original poster who is a 'lower level LL' whose spouse is an LL3? The comments have been removed since late last night! HR has been hard at work over night here to keep things fully edited.

Of course it's October. That's the time where they can squeeze out as much productivity and sales as possible without having to pay the year-end bonuses the following year. November and December will not work because too many paid holidays during those months. Need rid of people sooner.

Happening as late as October makes no sense. Leaving October 31 for those who accepted voluntaries makes sense which means there’s probably a two month window prior to initiate.

We'll know more after the earnings report this afternoon. I agree that invols are a foregone conclusion but a voluntary offer may very well come first. I anticipate the company wanting to know how many intend to leave by year end as early as possible to plan their moves with the invols. The bad part of such a sequence is that it only pushes more invols into the outlying years. It ultimately won't be a substitution. It's not necessarily about getting as many people as possible out the door at once, although I think the company dreams of such a scenario.

The work still has to get done and cars through production and off the line.

I take note of the assertion that the timing is off by around ten weeks yet no denial of it being close to a quarter of salaried people "mostly in the US".

Thanks for the Info, hope you and significant other focus on making FORD a better company & addressing issues that a regular white collar employee faces everyday!

People in power start addressing the real problem than avoiding the problem & firing people.
