Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

BBs recent message

BB sent an inspiring message recently that stuck with me. I do think some leaders know how awful it's been becoming but can't steer the ship overnight. I'm worried about the market and how talent will fall in all this. Without workforce, we're nothing.

Some executives have fallen victim to similar movies like Wolf of Wallstreet or Boiler Room with their own Assoc. VPs and Directors where they've been putting on a show. They may have done so out of fear, or their directs may have been narcissistic or high-functioning sociopaths who thrive in a manipulative culture.

Either way, shutting those people out, the people who did share and will deliver the message that is scary to share; those who don't have a pedestal to do it from & aren't recognized or get a seat at the table; it takes guts to do that. Some of these leaders tossed their own directs or borrowed resources under the bus a they've tried.

BB's message is asking those leaders & their leaders, to reign that in. There cannot be any further grandstanding if we want to thrive like we once were known for. To get there, we have to listen to people who have nothing else to lose.

Unless there's a tremendous AEP this year, which is a big question right now, BB will be gone and then who knows what will happen. The tone of his posts has changed a lot in the past 3 months, IMHO, and he may see the writing on the wall.

It is, absolutely, SICKENING to hear that BB makes $53k in ONE day!!!! I am just wanting a DECENT raise that keeps up with others in my profession…..and he makes $53,000 dollars in ONE day?!?!?! Beyond furious when thinking about it.

As long as the share holders see a profit no one cares. :(

So if they’re such good leaders why are they not making policies that attract members? If they were really good at what they did and were in tune with what people needed for their healthcare needs they would be in United shoes not in Humana shoes. We will have more members than we knew what to do with. Remember last year‘s enrollment? Just wait what happens with zero co-pay for insulin that United is offering.

I'd like to believe that BB is a good guy, but from what I've seen, it's been pretty cut-throat, and senior managers have been keen to bank quite a bit of coin. I hear that along with the earnings announcement, there will be many more cuts as part of a reorg. I've seen people get promoted and then fired, and others get plum jobs mostly because they do a good job of "managing up" instead of accomplishing things. Healthcare is so hard in the US that maybe it's just a fool's errand.
