Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Atleast this time ford will address the the non-productive workers

We have some people just login to meetings without any contribution. If given a chance they can talk about other useless topics with the LL6. I want to see them go.

I hope you’re right but I’d be surprised if you are. Most managers have no way of knowing who the slackers are because they’re so absorbed with their special assignments that they don’t pay attention. Most of the truly productive people are too busy to spend time crowing about their accomplishments while the slackers spend the majority of their time crowing about the one thing they accomplished and taking credit for the hard work of others. In addition there’s still a version of forced ranking that pushes new team members, the newly promoted and team members not working on high visibility projects toward the bottom of the list. That’s the primary reason the 2008/2009 layoffs took out so many newly promoted LL6s.

I know it’s hard but try not to panic. The past has shown us that those who are let go land on their feet and are happy with the positions they move on to.

I have seen ll5 protecting old slackers move from body to safety and back.

It's not just the people. It's their jobs, their role and responsibility that needs to change. If you have an R&R that requires nothing, then you'll work nothing. I noticed years ago, Ford has a phobia against creating R&R's.

No, like every other layoff, they won’t. Only when half of the LL ranks are terminated will that happen.
