Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Brain drain will be even greater

After these big cuts start, I think that even those who didn't intend to leave for a while - will start seriously thinking about it... Simply because many have already realized that they are just wasting their time here. I don't know how it will all look, but I hope that Ford will not become a barren land without talents...
I hope that the leadership takes into account that these cuts could trigger perhaps the biggest brain drain ever?

Many jobs have also been d-mbed down way too hard during the SRD. I know a bunch of people who are artificially increasing their workload because their jobs naturally don't require much.

Anyone who now sticks around Ford is fu----g stupid. Everyone knows you will be used and thrown away.

@isb I would agree except in many groups there are no willing recipients of cross-training or training of any sort. It is so much easier for the majority to coast.
I have even observed LL6’s deleting all the files and documentation laid off employees had spent decades documenting processes and procedures in, then claiming documentation never existed. For sure the LL6 are incompetent and just blindly completing a checklist.

I would say it's more like a week before their work is absorbed for those who are no longer in their position for unexpected reasons. And more like only 5% that are still missed on a monthly basis after three years gone. Those that were doing the best job possible were also making sure to keep everything they dealt with documented and tried make sure that someone else was capable of doing their job if needed, eg during long vacations.

Here is the thing for most people a week after they are released their work, if necessary, is absorbed. There is less than 10% who for years after they have left are missed and needed. There are two meeting this criteria in my department whose names still come up every week in a gosh I wish they were still here, they would know what to do. They have been gone for 3 years. Others names come up in gosh what a bonehead stories but that is it.

Most people do not realize until too late how replaceable they are.
Most manager are unable to identify the irreplaceable.

So if you have mad skills, depart at your earliest convenience

Yeah, I can't see why any talented person with any skills of any value would willingly stay after this. They pay OK but not enough for this toxically torturous kind of culture. I hope the good folks see the light and jump ship.

This one will be worse than F2000. I remember the KAOS from that one.
