Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Came for RSU’s

They looked very attractive! I planned on how they would pay off my mortgage in just 3 years. It all looked great!

That was the demo!

RSU’s then became the yoke around my neck. The worked me longer and harder than any of my colleagues. Certainly a lot harder than any of my managers.

Now, with all the talk of layoff before the RSU’s vest, and my old company offering incentives to return, I think I know what to do. I am going to check out those incentives, so if Oracle pulls the trigger, I will be ready.

H311, I might just go anyways. Who needs this drama?

RSUs are a scam. We got em at our company. They make such a big deal of them, but I don’t see the value. I am polite when I get them and I say Thank You bc I was raised right. But I feel the same way about the Tuna Cassarole that my neighbor left on my back porch when I was recovering from surgery.

Those automated vesting emails are sent just a day or 2 before vesting date, so don’t worry yet.

I’ve also been rewarded RSUs - last two years and for the next 5 years - last year in late June, Oracle’s automated email system managing employee shares (ESS) sent a reminder my RSUs would be vesting soon (Aug 3) and no need to action anything. I have not received the same reminder this year… am waiting for the axe to fall.

Getting RSU’s set you up to be just like an HB1 without a green card, or like shopping at the company store. They got you!
