Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

There is a lot of dead-wood that can be easily preened out of Oracle

Oracle VPs and above are the very LAST people who will be let go in this layoff. Simply looking at history tells you that.

That said, there is one h3ll of a lot of dead-wood that can be easily preened out of Oracle.

Conservatively, approximately 20-25% of the current Oracle employee base could be removed with zero impact to the daily operations of the company. Safra knows this all too well, but is not prepared to take the hit for such a large layoff. Of course “Chain saw Mark” Terd would have jumped at the chance to lay that many people off, in a heartbeat.

So, the layoffs will just go in continuous and small axe actions across the company, to stay under the mandated reporting threshold numbers.

If your number hasn’t come up yet, it will unless you are protected somehow.

Well said, @7ntk+1hIgBL8C.

Yes, VPs can be affected also. There are no limits.

VPs can be as affected as anyone else. No one is immune.

Anybody who gets laid off in this economy is pretty much screwed, especially with all that Oracle experience (no longer of interest in the today's job market) under your belt.

Well based on what has been happening the OP's statement is cr-p.
AK, BM, LJR, JL, CB to name a few of the senior execs being let go. More to come watch this space. Nobody is safe sadly. CMO down to M's to I's . If your name is on the spreadsheet it's done

We are living in very times. This not a typical annual Oracle layoff. No history patterns to follow due to current circumstances. World affairs, global economy - oil and food shortages, gas prices, supply chain, EU, China, world trade issues, timing of Russia- Ukraine war - 100’s of food processing plants being torched. Crime off the charts, political division in almost all countries, monetary systems in jeopardy, big tech giants in trouble,… too much overhead. Startups stronger lower overhead competitive. Only the fit will survive,
Oracle is not healthy. Too much debt.
…..All eyes on her. Reorg is eminent VP business model did not work. Negative middle management is Oracles weakness, Lack of accountability, arrogance, greed, stealing work from subordinates, at least one VP’s filed one fraudulent US Patent(s) maybe more - major criminal offense, could be a problem for Oracle patent lawsuits if other patents are fraudulent, VPs control org budgets - paying & bonusing themselves first RED FLAG Incapable of doing job hired to do as shown, cover is arrogance .
SEC investigations intensify,
UNdeveloped product roll outs/ copying competitors that are years ahead - takes time to recover R&D - Oracle pricing too expensive, always looking to gouge customers, competitors serve market with better pricing & quality. Oracle lacks new fresh ideas because they promoted wrong people to VP’s. Time to correct.
Dissatisfied customers, support too expensive,
Employees racism, abuse & favoritism
, VPs are responsible for Oracles issues., VPs have failed, ruined a good company. VPs are weakest link, reorg necessary to restore healthy imagine. If she doesn’t eliminate VP model then her career fails. World knows VPs are corrupt. Need to cleanup this mess. She is smart, she will not fail. Time for a change.

Text book - when recession, mid Mgmt gets hit first. Non producers incapable arrogant corrupt VPs are obvious choice. Time for rebranding. Time for a refresh. It’s up to her.
If she doesn’t remove VPs, shareholders will want investigations based on SEC Code of Ethics violations.
Oracle is sold as a long term growth stock .shareholders matter.

Sorry about this, but VP’s are definitely on the menu! You are still in trouble.
