WARN act

Does oracle have to provide a federal or California WARN filling for the large layoffs?

There are probably dozens of ways to get around WARN. The big 0 probably has put into practice every last one of them. The WARN act is something of a joke.

People always bring up WARN without taking a look through it. Large companies can layoff surprisingly large numbers of people and stay below the guidelines under which they'd have to announce it publicly. And they do. every large company. not just Oracle. They have their legal teams work with HR precisely to stay within guidelines while still accomplishing the need.

It’s the site location. So for CA it should occur as it’s a place they conduct business

Oracle does their layoffs in waves to avoid laws like this.

The CA Warn act was suspended during early covid restrictions but the suspension was removed last year. So I guess if you're in CA it still applies. But wouldn't apply to folks in other states.
