Thread regarding Ford layoffs

You have options

You can continue to complain about your horrible situation at Ford 24/7 and stay miserable. You can work hard and focus on your own personal satisfaction with a job well done and let it drive you. OR you can work on bettering your skill set and improving your chances of finding a better job. It's your choice.

@OP
Plant a tree somewhere, let it grow and become big and beautiful. Then watch someone bulldoze it over because they believe that tree isn't needed anymore based on ideology more than facts. You will also complain.
And then there is a guy coming along saying you don't deserve to complain and should instead "work on yourself" (the fu-k ever that means) and plant a better tree elsewhere cause then they won't bulldoze it over. Completely failing to see what lead to this outcome in the first place.

You can also negate your logic. I had a job, it sucked and i complained. Someone said, "don't complain so much! Instead work on yourself and find something better." I took it to heart and became an engineer working for FMC, happily ever after.

@wdg Who do you think caused all this uncertainty? It certainly wasn't Republicans.

I agree with the OP in principle. But then I also think it is much better to get paid to look for a new job. So give me my months of severance pay, and then I will explore those other options!

Not all departments and jobs at Ford are bad. I moved within Ford twice, my first job at Ford was terrible, the next one was just.. meh... The job I have now at Ford is nice, I have no complaints, just some concerns about stability.

The problems are the auto industry in general.
