Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

More inside info on recent layoffs

Just got my "package" email for the severance, release of claims etc.

One item that was VERY interesting was they provided a table of job titles and AGES of people that are in this round. Now this is JUST for the FTS business unit.

38 people for FTS... average age just over 51 years old.
One VP, 4 Directors, and most surprisingly, a TON of Security people. Yikes.

They also list how they came up with the list... "Eligibility for selection into the program was based on Performance, Spans and Layers, Expressed Interest, Job relocated, Organizational Alignment." (personally, the "Job relocated" is what affected me)

The good news is that the pen tests are much easier to pass.

FTS had a good security group, and they were all moved under a mo--n Jason Dewez in GCSS. Now most of them in GCSS are temp to hire contrators, which means you don't have the cream of the crop in the security group anymore. It is just butts in seats and they are discouraged from thinking.

Case and point, look what they did in this group before FTS and GCSS merged. Jason got rid of an MIT grad (origional Fiserv) under him for someone (FD Employee) that know's nothing about technology .

Since when does FTS have security people? Those jobs are usually within GCSS

Corporate America Sucks. People at the top make the most money doing nothing and people at the bottom work hard and get peanuts. Civil war is needed in this country. Just like Sri Lanka to get rid of these crooks.

I was in the “Expressed Interest” category. I was ready to go but wanted severance to leave. If you feel the same then don’t be afraid to tell your boss you want to be put on the list if there’s another round of layoffs.

Actually it is common because they want to show that they have laid off a fair sampling of people in different age brackets, so they are not exposed to age discrimination claims.

They are required to provide age ranges in order to deny age discrimination complaints

They always post this in a layoff. Not sire how you could verify it though.

This is very interesting. I have not done the research so I don’t know. But it seems at all companies you better have your retirement nest egg tucked away by 50. Because after 50 you are in the retirement danger zone. I made it past 55 but I was lucky. Prepare people
