I'm leaving soon and I'd really like to not have an exit interview at all.
What is the point of the exit interview? Do they really want to hear that I'm leaving because I think the promotions aren't fair? Would my honest answers change anything? I don't think so. That's why I don't see the point in an exit interview.

First the company cant force you to partake in an exit interview. Just send a note to your line manager and HR tag of your request.
Also, they dont solicit feedback nor include an exit interview when they go through downsizing/layoff events. Your line manager with HR present reads to you from a script, they cant engage in a dialogue for reasons of liability.
You should always take the exit interview. Who knows, they may give you a coffee mug 😎
You are not obliged to do it. Say you do not want to do it.
It’s definitely worth doing. Promotions are not fair. You may help poor remainders down the line: every little helps!
