I feel sorry for all the employees who are affected because losing your job is very stressful, even for those who are somewhat prepared and have savings. However, survivors are also stressed. I immediately got more work to do after my colleague got cut. Who feels lucky to have survived this round of layoffs? I'm starting to think that it would be better for me if I had gotten laid off too.

They can dump all the extra work they want on me, it's not like they're suddenly giving me way more money for it. They pay for my time, and i will continue to work the same amount of time, no more.
the big difference is you have the certainty of a job while the unemployed are facing a worsening economy and no income.
Not going to lie. Had I been spared, I would have been bummed and felt stuck with the cr-p. I am glad PayPal laid me off.
