Let’s see if he can turn this titanic around or will it be just another shuffling of the deck chairs

Most Technology executives are from Chennai, starting with the CIO, SVP, VP, etc. - The plan has always been to put 'Tamil' (language spoken in Chennai) speaking in technology leadership.

For the last three years, they have also been importing 'Chennai' people from India to VP and ED positions in the US under the International Managers Visa. For example, look at the linked profile of the CIO and SVP. They both come from Anna University!

A little love is sprinkled to Asians, Maybe a few old-school Americans, and a few other minorities to satisfy Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion metrics.

On the business side, we have traditional American leadership in the ranks than a lot of Indians except for the C-suite, where they mainly imported non-Americans

Please don't look for merit here. It is never what you know but who you know in corporate America.

Get your paycheck, work as little as you can, and bid goodbye when the time is right!

I've had some interactions with Sampath. He seems like a pretty bright guy. I'm not in VBG so I don't know the challenges, but I feel like you could have done worse.

  1. 0 didn’t work, so let’s promote him so we can run VBG into the ground. Changes will be coming and not in good way. Sad we are losing one of last strong female executives. She actually understood how to run an organization. Scary what’s coming next.

Wait and see if Sampath takes care of his friends like Ajay did before him when he moved over to wireline IT. The VP, Executive Director, and Director ranks tripled under Ajay. IT became bloated and remains so today. I thought Hans Verizon 2.0 would cut the bloated IT executive ranks by 50%, but that never happened. Hans Verizon 2.0 rebadged 1500 IT employees to Infosys and gutted the lower ranks of IT without reducing the bloated IT executive ranks.

This company abused the H1b laws and their are witnesses and proof of hiding notices in out of the way offices. This is why there are so many layoffs. Verizon is a backdoor for Bangalore entry.

Can anyone point to one single Sampath win for the Verizon shareholder? Just one? I think not.

Itll turn around full steam ahead while continuing to sink because why fix it when you can make some short term profit.

sampath always referring to the secret sauce. Instead of secret sauce how about we focus on products that are competitively priced and rolled out in a timely manner. Our products are rolled out in the 9th inning rather than the first.

Sampath moves to EVP/CEO Verizon Business effective July 1 and Tami Erwin is moving to become strategic advisor to CEO Hans Vestberg until the end of the year. Just what Hans and Verizon needs, another strategic advisor to the CEO.
