I keep wondering if better leadership would've been able to prevent or reduce the scope of layoffs. I think so. Do you agree? If this leadership had a slightly better vision, really cared about the future of PayPal, or had some concrete long term plans, I think many of the great employees who got cut would still be working here.

It's definitely a leadership issue. Schulman has no idea what he's doing and has filled his team with unqualified people.
It really is so important to remember that rejection is just redirection. Relationships end, people move, jobs change. It’s just a fact of life. I have known several people who were laid off that have secured new positions and they are even compensated better than paypal was compensating them. PayPal severed ties with many great employees but those people will go on to be great workers for someone else!
