Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Ask yourself, does Oracle deserve your best?

How well have you been treated since you joined? Are you paid according to industry standards? Are your benefits satisfactory? Does your manager treat you with respect? Ask yourself these and similar questions and then adjust your output based on the answers. You'll be much happier at work if you do that, because at least you will no longer feel like you're being taken advantage of.

Even with potential layoffs and tech companies get hit,
SEC is investigating more of the big corps now and it will be interesting to read the findings. It’s past time for ethics cleanup.
I’m not one for more govt involvement but when a publicly traded company has many incompetent corrupt leaders, patents fraud by VPs -
govt involvement has its place and they are not scared to take the crooks down that abuse, take credit for hard working people then terminate them, it’s time for them to pay for
Misdeeds and learn right from wrong.
Employees are not commodities.. this type of thinking needs to go
I hope that many write to the authorities and to your district Congressman about the stuff goes on in this company.
Oracle needs to be pay ridiculous ethics violations fines for gross misconduct of certain VP(s).

No, Oracle does not deserve good people. It’s a sad state of affairs, but you need to move on and get that next job. Oracle is going down, don’t go down with it.

Personally speaking, the people at Oracle deserves my best. I have worked with 4 different managers now and all of them have supported my growth. I have also been laid off while at Oracle, but it was down to my own performance. I don't see myself here forever but that doesn't mean I will not look back with gratitude.

Thank you HR

It won’t be clean until the criminal patents filer is sent away.

Oracle has made some serious mistakes by promoting people they thought wouid be good for the company yet are corrupt leaders that prey on others & commit felonies. An internal compliance weakness is accountability. The SEC and other federal govt agencies require compliance. Laws are made for a reason.

I guess deriding people is probably not the best behavior. But, if the intent is to warn others of the toxic environment. I do not see that as a bad thing. Maybe even nudge some to go to other companies that provide a more cooperative and healthy place to work. If all you work for is money you will live a sad life. Oracle does not provide employment in good faith that is in the employees best interest. They continually exploit good people that think they are going to get rewarded for a job well done. You will receive compensation but little satisfaction at Oracle. Go work somewhere else that at least tries to be a good employer and not just a place to work.

Probably not. The reason is quite simple - grossly incompetent managers. There are many senior directors and VP's that are talentless and they know it. They keep their jobs safe by undermining the competent employees who report to them. I had one of those as a manager - a horrid bulldog faced ginger sk--k from San Diego. She would get so worked up and aggressive as she did not have the capacity to understand simple concepts. What is more worrying is these people have authority on important areas such as security. If only the customers knew ...

No pleasure deriding Oracle. Those of us who want people to get out are seriously concerned with the welfare off those still there. We have gone through some things you have not yet encountered. Oracle is a dangerous place to work. You need to get out of the company. Seriously. You need to get out. There are things going on there that you do not want to encounter.

It always amazes me how a discussion on layoffs always turns to being an attempt to persuade people to leave. I am not sure what satisfaction posters get out deriding those who still work at Oracle, trying to make an honest living and supporting our family!
