How many of you are not having 1-on-1s with your tech manager? Seems like 1-on-1s use to be mandatory. My manager is super busy and I'm reluctant to ask given the current department climate.

My manager is cr@p. He can’t actually code, and has almost zero knowledge of the LOB he supports but was brought in as part of the buddy club.
Spends all the 1:1 asking us what we do and passing it off as his own to take credit.
But when things blow up, he blames it on us.
Count your blessings, In my last 1on1 I was notified of my displacement.
Scheduled monthly, have them every 3 months. Have to babysit him in daily calls so not much to talk about on 1 on 1
We have 1-1 every other week. If you want a 1-1 and your manager isn’t scheduling one, take the initiative and schedule one with her/him.
My last one on one was when I received my review, same with the year before.....
I have too many 1-on-1s with my managers. I get my work done so there isn't much to talk about , complete waste of time
My manager has been MIA for a year. I suspect he's looking for another job, but whatever the reason is, I'm glad he's out of my hair.
Managers are a huge roadblock to success here. The less management we have, the better off we are.
My mgr is very committed to 1-1s! I was okay with them until my team got our current mgr current (2yrs now) as he talks AT me the whole hour--talks over me if I interject, tells me how to do all my assignments. And, mgr can't remember anything we talk about---
I dread this hour every other week.
I guess I'm in the other camp here. I meet once every other week and we still don't have much to talk about. Same old. Last manager we went months without 1:1s and I was fine with that. I have his number if I need to talk to him, I know where he sits.
Get on their calendar at the cadence you deem important. You lead the agenda and conversation.
I’m in the process of getting my 4th manager since last august. Everyone keeps resigning.
I haven't had a one on one in years. Always get cancelled.
I guess I have the alternative. With the exception of PTO on either of our parts, we meet weekly.
My management is 100% disengaged as well as no ongoing 1-1's
Last 1-on-1 was last December. Not sure how to interpret. Very little manager dialogue except random emails and IMs.
My mgr scheduled them for once a week. Had 3 since Jan.
